Anna Theresa Licaros rocks.

Aside from beating the heat of a scorching Friday afternoon and enduring the traffic in the street of España and the once dreaded crossings of the academic oval in UP Diliman (simply because of a single P.E. subject), seven excited, yet nervous students of UP Manila made their way to Diliman for a rare chance of meeting up with the current Binibining Pilipinas-Universe for a small interview that they need for Comm3.

Well, well well, an interview. First things first: What influenced them to choose her as their interviewee, you may ask? Certain facts and figures would tell you that only a small percent would rather disagree with the group’s decision.

● The group is composed of four girls and two boys. Chances are, the interviewee would be a prominent female personality.

● One of them ‘allegedly’ likes the brother of Miss Licaros, who happens to be their contact to be able to reach her.

● Since her brother studies in UP Manila like the group, one of them *coughs maliciousLEE* had the chance to talk to him and thus, establish contact to Miss Licaros as well.

● Well, as always, girls will be girls.

● SHE IS GORGEOUS. Need I say more?

Even approximately one and a half hours of travel, chitchats and laughs could not help remove the nervousness in every beat of the students’ hearts. The interview has actually been rescheduled a number of times already, which adds up to the tension running in their minds. One question clouds up in everybody’s head: “Could we pull it off?” Hopefully, hopefully they could.

Final preparations were made just before looking for the room where the interview was supposed to be held. Malcolm Hall was the destined building. Though they spent a hard time looking for the room, fortunately they crossed paths with the interviewee herself. Tension can be felt in the air. And though petrified for a split second, the group managed to follow Miss Licaros to where they were supposed to execute.. uhh, not her, the interview.

But then the tension suddenly vaporized when she started the talking. The normal ATL (that’s how the group refers to her when meeting up in school before the interview) is actually a lively woman. She was always smiling, perhaps the reason behind her bagging the Miss Photogenic Award at the Miss Universe Pageant in Mexico. She talks very casually, that you’d forget the fact that you are talking to a prominent beauty queen in person. Also, she has many interesting things to say, and you’ll actually learn a lot from her while having fun talking to her as well.

After the interview and a quite unofficial photo shoot with Miss Licaros, they thanked and waved goodbye to her for spending the time and parted ways. As they went on their way, four group members decided to go to SM for some food at good ol’ McDonald’s. Minutes passed by though, they also had to part ways, and the author decides to have a little walk at his former ‘home,’ SM North Edsa just before taking a ride back to his real home.

Well, that about does it.

But wait there’s more! A contest was actually held for selected persons from the group –  this one’s for the best picture with Miss Licaros.
